In order for the Governor’s office to provide information to FEMA, several CAP squadrons in Florida were activated. The mission of identifying the areas needing assistance was completed by the CAP officers and cadets. This was done by using CAP aircraft equipped with sophisticated cameras and taking photos of the areas. The CAP members are all volunteers and the aircraft and equipment was provided by the United States Air Force. See the news report here.
